Review: Dream High

This drama is like a breath of fresh air compared to other Kdramas I'm currently watching. Miss Korea is good but it started kind of slowly and I need to wait a few more hours for subbing so I can watch today's episode. Empress Ki is like a roller coaster and right now it's at the point of utter absurdity, more than most period dramas I have seen, and trust me, I've seen plenty. However something about this drama really hits the heart. It's simple, cute, yet there's more to it.

2013 Rewind: Drama Edition

Hard to believe it's been over a year since the day the world was suppose to end, well it didn't and were slowly making our way to 2014. 2013 hasn't been the best year for dramas in my opinion but mark my words that 2014 will be AMAZING.

Even though it wasn't great it wasn't awful. My eyes opened up to a lot of new things that has definitely broaden my drama horizon. So here goes a list of everything I watch, dropped, and is currently and will carry on until next year.

A Montage of Stills from Yu Zheng's Return of the Condor Heroes Part 1

I know it has been a while since I have posted anything. I've started on a few but time and motivation prevents me from actually finishing it. Anywho, this here will be something to keep you in check with Yu Zheng's upcoming remake of The Return of the Condor Heroes. Part of me is wondering why I am even doing this when I despise Yu Zheng and everything that he is and I just feel bad for the people who work under his sick mind. If you haven't heard of this remake by now you need to get out from under that rock. Better yet, stay under it because currently in Dramaland, Yu Zheng is changing basically everything about this classic. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of Return of the Condor Heroes mainly because it's a never ending cycle of XiaoLongNu miss understanding Yang Guo, her leaving, and then him looking for her, multiple times.

Bu Bu Jing Qing Music Videos and Stills

Ladyboss has done it again. Just when you think this drama is headed towards nowhere, she throws us a curveball to turn us back around so we'll want to watch this, me at least. I saw the video last night after catching up on Heirs, for some reason, and this music video just made my week. It's beautiful and depressing and sad and melancholic in the greatest way ever.

Are Sequels and Prequels a Good Thing or a Bad Thing?

If you couldn't tell from the picture above, this is my reaction to all the remakes and sequels coming up. I found an article where they announced a sequel, if you want to call it so, where the guy who has been leads for the first two will not be the lead in this work but only as a guest, such blasphemy if you ask me.

I literally saw the post, ran over to my sister and started hyperventilating and basically had an anxiety attack. Besides the fact that that guy number 1 won't be the lead, the guy who is taking his place is still too much of a newbie to have the chops for the job, sorry bro I say it as it is.

So you basically get to hear me vent on the first two parts, the upcoming part, and mention some remakes because they do play a part in the madness that will be discussed in this post. If you do not feel like wanting to break everything you own, turn away from this post.

Drama Review: Summer Fever/ Lian Xia 38 C

Ever since We Got Married Global finished last weekend, my still broken heart is in need of some Gui Gui to cheer me up. I was in the middle of watching BBJX and just felt the urge to look up dramas and this came up second on a list of best Taiwanese love dramas. I decided heck no on the first drama because I detest Ariel Lin and will probably never watch anything with her again so this was my go to. Originally going in, I only knew Gui Gui and the simple plot of a love story on a small island. That was it. I never even heard of anyone else, except for two other minor characters, so I went in with an open mind. Also from what I've read, all the reviews on this drama claimed it was one of the best drama they've ever watched.  We'll just have to see won't we.

Drama Update: June 2013

My laziness has gotten to me again to where I might actually have to do two or three posts today but I'd much rather just watch whatever it is I'm watching.

It's currently July as I'm writing this. I originally started writing this post Friday but again laziness is tempting, so I just rewatched Boys Over Flowers since it's been a few years.

The reason why I decided to do this post was because I saw an unusual lineup in all my dramas. For someone who doesn't like Korean dramas, it seems to be I've been watching for the last two weeks.

Currently Watching: Mandate of Heaven: The Fugitive of Joseon

In case you didn't notice, I'm not exactly the biggest fan of Korean dramas due to its inconsistency. I know that's wrong of me to say considering there are a lot of bad Chinese/Hong Kong/ and Taiwanese dramas out there, but the last few Kdramas I've watched have made me question what the heck is everyone raving about? I don't know if it's just me, the dramas I've chosen, my favor of acting, me not liking the "flower boy look", the frustrating endings and so on.

However about a month ago or something, I read somewhere about this and it sounded decent. The only that was really pulling me in was Kim YuBin and her impeccable cuteness. I think that this drama has a possibility of making me believe in the good of Kdramas, as long as it doesn't end terribly.

Possible Airing Date: Da Mo Yao

I guess the title kinda speaks for itself but hearing this, I was as skeptical as the person to right, left, in front, and behind me, basically everyone. But hearing this gives us a glimmer of hope that things are slowly, very slowly smoothing out. But knowing SARFT, something is bound to happen. I guess all we have to do is keep waiting.

Upcoming Drama: Perfect Couple

Looking back, this image sure has us remembering the bittersweet love that Xu Changqin and Zixuan endured. These two captured the hearts of the audience more than our leads by Hu Ge and Yang Mi in CP3. CP3 was Wallace's and Tang Yan's first project together and they showed impeccable chemistry together, that to this day makes me wish they could've ended up together, sorry for that.  The wuxia love story of the millennium that only lasted for a millennium now has its chance to be redeemed.

Fans like you me have been waiting anxiously for Wallace Huo and Tang Yan to pair up again and now the five year wait is over. Now they will be working on Wallace's first production Perfect Couple 金玉良緣.
